Presents the story of a woman whose love for Jenofonte pushed her to abandon her village and accompany him with an army of a thousand during one of the most difficult war campaigns in ancient Greece.
I didn’t like Xeno epecially towards the end of the book, not a man that was worth giving your entire life up for. Betrayed by his wife, who plots to murder him and persecuted by hostile gods, he has no choice but to turn his sails west, towards Hesperia, the mysterious mist-shrouded land that will one day be called Italy. The stories of bravery and fortune are the stuff legends are made of.
Trivia About Ejercitp Lost Army. Valerio Massimo Manfredi achieves to illustrate the desperation of the Ten Thousand, a Greek mercenary company, who must return to Greece deep into enemy territory after a failed campaign while suffering from attrition, hunger, and being betrayed by their allies.
I read alot of historical fiction but generally it’s the kind that is aimed at perdkdo with more focus on romance and family. I know the other guy turned out to be a spy but Sophos was willing to lead them the wrong way.
