In most although not all instances I don’t really disagree with what Blackaby is saying. Where others say, “the Lord helps those who help themselves,” Blackaby answers that God often does nothing until His people can “cease striving” and rest in Him.
He does not counsel them to seek a decision from God. The greatest movement of God’s Spirit in the last years was the Reformation. Profound in my spiritual development. For anyone who has spent the bulk of their lives as a Christian the past 2 decades, has been taught a slant on the Bible that teaches what God can do for us – not what we can do for God. It is not for us to set limits on Him. I have tried numerous times to get through this workbook, and I have just been unable to. He seems to give the impression that only if we move into international business, large evangelism campaigns and full time paid ministry are we really following God.

The notion is, to many, so obviously Christian, so undoubtedly Biblical, that its truth is beyond question.
