The rules they’re about to break will bring out the jealousy in Magnus-and the astounding truth. Bryan not only can see the interest between Alex and Zoe; he also finds himself fairyvulle to Zoe.

These elements are wrapped up fairly well by the end of the book, but the tension between the four main characters and their interactions usually sexual are the main thrust of the story. Magnus was already there, probably lazing back in her chair with his long, strong legs propped on the desk she used for paperwork.

From their first meeting, Magnus had struck her as more man than most. The story and characters were ok, but I wasn’t drawn to them the way I would have liked. Darling counted out her payment in cash like she always did. Darling was a sweet old lady, sometimes Zoe wanted to shake her out of her mundane world. Her old, arthritic hands made each bill seem as heavy as a volume of War and Peace.
