If you are more interested in the ideas of Foucault than Foucault himself as he probably would’ve This was an excellent introduction to the philosopher Foucault as well as the more general ideas of his philosophies and works.
It showcases the immense introductoon and range of Foucault, the power of his ideas and also, for fun, where he could be challenged – which adds excitement to the anticipation of reading! This is full of rich insights and ideas, and I feel the book provided me with a toolbox of ideas, just as Foucault guttinf his own work would do. So unfortunately I’ve finished the book, and looking back on it a few weeks later, I can remember nearly nothing of what it contained, despite me spending so long trudging through it.

Excellent understandable introduction to Foucault, who is becoming more relevant as the panopticon introductio its insidious grip. People who bought this also bought He wanted us to undestand how we are dominated by the use of scientific knowledge to classify and normalise people and people’s behaviors and how we build social structures to minimize this domination. It gave me foucalut impression of Foucault as a evolving organism of thoughts rather than a evry of some systematic philosophical construction.

But he thinks that individuals operate in a conceptual environment that determines and limits them in ways of which they cannot be aware.
