Part of me wanted to think Nick had changed in the past four years. This review was super diplomatic. BUT I really did love that the author incorporated snowboarding. This book was like a breath of fresh air.
And a lot of tension between them has built up over the years — since they were 13 years old — which I thought was kinda cute.
When Hayden wins the girls’ division of a local snowboarding competition, Nick is unimpressed, claiming that Hayden wouldn’t have a chance against a guy. Hayden was a character that was easy to like from the first page, because while she was a wickedly awesome snowboarder, she still had her faults and fears that any teenager could relate too.
