After growing angry with both the messenger's disrespect and finding him making out with his wife, Leonidas kicks him into a pit. Despite Traitoro's advice that the messenger's guards are now needed to convey the actual message, Leonidas kicks them in as well, along with several other people he simply dislikes, such as Britney Spears Nicole ParkerRyan Seacrestand the American Idol ju dg es. Resolving to face the PersiansLeonidas visits the prophets and gives them medicines such as Neutrogena as their price for their consultation.
They advise him that he should consult the Oracle for any advice. The Oracle, Ugly Bettyreveals that Leonidas will die should he go to war. After reaching a decision while spending the night with his wife, Leonidas meets the soldiers assembled for his departure to Thermopylaeand finds that only thirteen were accepted in the army due to stringent requirements.
Among them are Captain, his son Sonio, and a slightly unfit Spartan named Dilio. Once at the Hot Gates, they encounter a deformed Paris Hilton also played by Parkerwho tells Leonidas and the Captain about a secret goat path above the Hot Gates that Xerxes could use to outflank the Spartans.
When she asks to be made a Spartan soldier, Leonidas rejects her as unqualified due to her inability to use a spear correctly. Leonidas and his platoon soon face off with Xerxes' messenger and his Immortals, beating them in a dance contest before driving them off a cliff. Xerxes Ken Davitianimpressed, personally approaches Leonidas and attempts to bribe him with a trip to the Palms Hotel and Casino. Leonidas declines, and the Spartans face the Persian army in a " Yo Momma " fight, which the Spartans win, but Dilio has his eyes scratched out and wanders away.
Hilton decides to betray the Spartans and reveals the location of the goat path to Xerxes in return for various gifts and for having her deformed hump removed. Xerxes meets the twelve remaining Spartans and the war begins. Meanwhile, back in Sparta, Queen Margo has several confrontations with Traitoro, as he is the vital vote in sending more troops to assist her husband. Following her address to the Council, Traitoro publicly betrays the Queen.
The car made it back on the remaining two cylinders. The supports that hold a pin securing the float in the top of the carburetor came loose, and the float ceased to do its job. Will recommended peening the supports once back in place to secure them. For all Solex owners, I recommend that you have your mechanic peen your carburetor supports before they fall out and you repeat our somewhat frightening experience.
I told him to stop or I would leave him. He was let go from his job six months ago, and he says he has been feeling increasingly depressed and worthless. I love him very much, but ever since I gave him the ultimatum, he has become increasingly distant.
I don t feel I can get through to him anymore. Can you please help? A concerned SL Member A A car stalling after being driven a short distance can be caused by a variety of faults with the fuel system. Start by checking that there is no debris in the fuel line. You may want to replace the fuel line to the pump with a clear in-line NAPA filter. If none of these approaches solves the problem, it could be that the fuel pump itself is faulty, causing low delivery pressure to the Solex float chamber.
I hope this helps. I hope you can help me here. The other day I set off for work, leaving my husband in the house watching the TV as usual. I hadn t gone more than a mile down the road when my engine conked out and my SL shuddered to a halt. I walked back home to get my husband s help. When I got home, I couldn t believe my eyes. He was in the bedroom with a neighbor lady making mad passionate love to her. I am 32, my husband is 34, and we have been married for 12 years.
When I confronted him, he tried to make out that he went into the back yard and heard a lady scream, had come to her rescue but found her unconscious. He d carried the woman back to our house, laid her in bed, and began CPR.
When she awoke, she immediately began thanking him and kissing him, and he was attempting to break free when I came back. Parts Order Desk Direct: Factory Shop Service Repair Manuals also for sale. Alex Voss th Ave. Always garaged and covered. Original tools, no hardtop. South St, Aberdeen, NC ! I had readily agreed that a Northern California event in the spring would be a great idea until Joe mentioned Carmel Valley, my home, as his proposed site.
I wondered if anyone would come. Don t worry, repeated Bill and Jim in unison. We ll be there. I had not known Bill and Jim before, but something about members of this group engenders immediate friendship and trust among recent converts.
And surely I need not have worried; Bill spread the word throughout the southland and soon had commitments for eight cars and about 15 people. The response from Northern California was equally gratifying. Please forward these, along with a copy of your "Build Sheet" or "Data Card" and a few photos of the car to him at verizon.

Los Laureles Lodge was originally a hunting lodge for wealthy Bay Area sportsmen who hunted the wild boar in Carmel Valley.
Saturday dawned overcast as is usual along the California coast. The group from Southern California enjoyed breakfast at the Lodge, polished their cars, and returned to the parking area adjacent to Wills Fargo a little after They were soon joined by the arrival of our members from the Bay Area.
By this time, the sun prevailed overhead, our cars were all lined up, and Jim Morris asked if I knew we were in the middle of the Annual Carmel Valley Pet Parade. Folks at the Chamber of Commerce hadn t mentioned that. A total of SLs were met with approving eyes by passing pet owners and many others on their Saturday morning rounds in the Village. Steve Marx s bright-red race car drew much attention on the end of the row. Steve brought this race car back for the Monterey Historic Car Races during Concourse weekend in August, a successful outing, we understand.
Carmel Valley Village is only several blocks long but has been reborn from its days as the center of ranching activities in the Valley. As much of the ranch land has been turned into wine grape vineyards or housing tracts, the village has opened up a number of wine-tasting outlets for small specialty wine producers. This has been followed by art galleries, 10 SL Group Mini Meet in Carmel Valley, May 19, boutiques, and small family-operated restaurants.
The county transit authority now runs bus service to the village called the Grapevine Express twice an hour on weekends. The Chamber of Commerce had provided maps for walking tours of the Village. Members of our group took the rest of the morning to stroll, explore, and find a spot for lunch.
We began the driving part of the tour with a vertical ascent along a two-mile winding road to an overlook on El Caminito to get a view of the valley below, with the Ventana Wilderness and Los Padres National Forest beyond and a hint of the Pacific Ocean. We then turned around and went back to the Village for a last-chance fuel stop before heading east on the Carmel Valley Road. We followed the winding, frequently single-lane road along the Carmel River, giving clutches, steering gear boxes, and shifting-arm muscles a thorough workout.
At the mile post, we turned toward the Cachagua Valley on Tassahara Road. We waited a few minutes for all of the cars to catch up but realized we were missing several and feared a breakdown. Cell phones are of no value in this place, but Jim Morris was following as the sweep, so we were confident he had the situation under control.

Shortly after the turn onto the Cachagua Road, Tassahara Road becomes unpaved and passes some many miles further to a Zen Buddhist Retreat, open to the public by special arrangement during the summer months only.
We went the other way. We proceeded in our lower gears until arriving at last at the gates of the Galante Vineyards and Winery, only to find Jim Morris and the rest of the group arriving at the same time from the other direction. While waiting for the gate to be opened, Kevin Timmins had difficulty restarting after a stall, but soon got that under control.
The winery at Galante Vineyards is about another mile from the gate. We followed the wine master to the top of a hill with fantastic vistas. Our tour was handled by the master, who gave us a presentation, including the growing of the grapes, analysis of the soils, selection of the vines, and then the process of winemaking, ending with the barrels in front of us.
We adjourned to a tasting of the selected vintages, progressing from the lighter to the richer. Crackers and cheese had been set out to balance the palate. Afterward, some of our members took advantage of the opportunity to procure some to take home. We next headed back toward the Village on the Cachagua Road that continues as a narrow twisting maze of switchbacks until finally reaching its summit.
After a stop for more photos of the wilderness and ocean beyond, we tested our brakes severely on the descent back into the Carmel Valley. Happily, we all arrived back in the Village without incident. Our excellent dinner was served in the private dining room at Los Laureles Lodge, overlooking the pool. Our hosts provided a thoughtful selection of menu items, all beautifully prepared. Classified Advertisers Please Note: Largest aftermarket Mercedes parts manufacturer in the U.

After Per s positive response to the prototype and some Internet investigation on my own, I ordered one for myself. A 50s-era distributor is designed to alter this timing using springs and weights, so as your rpm s increase, the moment at which your spark plugs fire is adjusted.
Modern engines use electronics to do the job. According to ignition, The ignition-system in a classic car is often the source of many problems. After many years, the mechanical system is worn, and replacement of the points with an optical or magnetic setup does not make up for wear in the advance-mechanism, the shaft and bearings, etc.
Your points require replacement and adjustment from time to time and can, as I can attest, leave you sitting beside the road when you d rather be driving on it. Electronic ignition systems like Pertronics replace only the points, leaving your old distributor s cam, springs, and weights doing or not doing their ignition advance timing job. They also require a separate box for the associated electronics, detracting from an original look. Albertronic BV in Holland makes the ignition They make electronic distributors for lots of classic cars, including Mercedes, but up until then hadn t made one for the SL.
The ignition distributor is different. It comes in its own Bosch-like aluminum billet and nickel-plated housing. Although externally similar to its Bosch mechanical VJ4BR11 and VJR4BR24 counterparts, it contains high-tech electronics For those of us with more tools than experience, myself included, I ll try to explain what I understand to be the importance of setting the most favorable advance curve.
But even if you don t understand the reasoning, optimizing the ignition timing is a good way to gain power across the entire rpm band.
The electronically controlled curves also result in smoother engine torque the force that pushes you back in your seat STAR Simply said, controlling the time when the plugs fire can increase power. We will re-cover and return them promptly. Original Mercedes materials available.
The unit is designed to fit perfectly and can be swapped out quickly for shows or if the electronic distributor should fail. There is also a built-in LED for simple static ignition timing; just turn the distributor until the light goes on, and your static timing is set.
Your old standard coil will probably work fine with the new distributor, but it s recommended that you use a new one.
Your old one may have overheated in the past, which may result in a poor spark, no spark, or backfiring. In any case, the resistance between the positive and negative terminals of the coil should be less than 1 ohm.
New wires and plugs are also suggested.Wheels & Tires For Sprites & Midgets
The ignition is simple to install although the first unit I received had to be replaced, perhaps because it was the second prototype. The replacement worked perfectly and continues to work with no problems. In fact, I replaced the distributor in my 6-cylinder SE with a igniton unit that also continues to work well. I just drove it from Pennsylvania to Florida with no problems.
Another feature is automatic dwell control. Dwell angle is the time the points are closed to energize the coil and is expressed in degrees of rotor rotation. A mechanical distributor has a fixed dwell angle, sometimes resulting in overheated coils at low speeds, weaker sparks, and misfiring at high speeds. An ignition coil only needs a couple of milliseconds to charge, but with a fixed dwell angle, coils are "overcharged" many times when idling, resulting in overheating. At high speeds, the fixed dwell angle tends to leave too little time to charge the coil fully, resulting in weaker sparks and misfiring.
A screw plug under the distributor reveals a position advance curve selector. Check the company s current documentation for the recommended setting for the SL.
The online documentation seems to indicate that the SL s unit can also fit other cars and has built-in curves for them as well.
I m sure you can get one set up like mine with 16 curves for supercharged and carbureted engines, and perhaps other The ignition measures the amount of current flowing into the coil in such a way that the strongest possible spark is guaranteed at all engine speeds while keeping the coil cool. In addition, the power to the coil is cut off as soon as the engine stops, preventing cooked coils. A unique spark-balancing feature produces less noise and more power, too.
Spark balancing is an advanced technology normally used in Formula 1 cars, where engine speeds are tremendously high. This technique is built into the ignition. Assume, for example, that the compression of one cylinder differs from the others. The motion of the flywheel and camshaft would be imbalanced. The ignition detects this and adjusts the timing of each cylinder individually.
The result is a much quieter engine with more power and less wear. I noticed that the engines in my cars run smoother. This may be the reason. According to the manufacturer, you ll also see better starting, emissions, and fuel consumption. Wear is reduced to an absolute minimum, as points, cam, centrifugal weights, etc. One immediately apparent difference between the ignition and the traditional style is the rock-steady timing.
There is a very good video available on the ignition Website and YouTube that shows how steady it is compared to a traditional distributor and one with a Pertronix system. I could lower the idle to rock-steady rpm s, and the throttle response was improved.
When checking the ignition with a stroboscope, it was very clear that the advance was much more stable. I tried a few different curves, including one that gave me 42 degrees rpm. There were no knocking problems whatsoever, and it seemed that this setting gave me the best performance, although difficult to tell without a dyno test.
He also said, Performance with the Judson was completely different compared to the modified stock distributor. No hesitation when picking up the throttle and a smooth power delivery throughout the rpm range almost. In fact, the Judson worked very well with the small Holley carb.
